Heres the deal...
I have got the phone call from work and I am going out of town for a month or more , starting on Monday.

I wanted to have my pond up and running so that all my wife has to do for me is dump a little food in for the fish once in a while.

To be able to take off and have my pond running I went and dragged my filter down stairs to my basement and connected it to the 140gal tank.
It's been running there for about 3 weeks so thats as good a jump start as I can get for the bio-life in the filter.
I also have been adding some of the Bio-life bottles I get from the Local Fish store.

Things might not be as good as I wish, but Im out of time...
Today i got the my Pond pump!
They are not really stocked in the stores yet here, (northern North Dakota) but I found one that I hope will work.
It's only a 2,000 gal per hour pump, but lets hope thats enough.

The plan is to pump all the water out of the 140gal so that there is no harm to the fish or filter bio-life at all.

The idea of not using the water in the 140gal tank incase there is a problem has cause me to re-think things....

But as of now Im still going to pump that tank dry.
Im just so concerned with fact that 2 weeks ago i lost over 30 so fish do to a water change, that it's made me a bit gun shy about adding too much tap water to my pond all at once.

Today is the day!

I have completed my indoor pond and will now begin to fill it with water and get my new pump going.

I finished the last of the glue joints on the water lines last night so to give them enough time to dry .

I connected my pump to the outgoing water lines so that in a moment when I have enough water in the pond I can see if everything will work?

I have decided to take the advice of many here on the forum and hold back the use of the water in the 140gal tank until I know for sure that my pond liner and all my water lines are holding water.

I plan to just add some tap water to the pond with plenty of WATER CONDITIONER to start off.

Once I know everything is ok, I still plan to pump out all the water out of the 140 gal tank in the hope that will help the fish get used to the in pond and it's water

Well, I have a small problem...

For some unknown reason I sure seem to have a lot of bubbles?
There is a lot of foam in my pond for some reason.

Im still only pumping tap water so Im not sure whats wrong?
I hope that as i add more water I get rid of the foam....

Im a bit stumped by the foam thats building in my pond???
Im still only pumping tap water.

My guess is that I have too much water conditioner in my watr and that this is the cause of the foam.
However Im not told by anyone thats a likely cause yet...so Im just guessing...

I have about a foot of tap water in the pond now.
no leaks so far...

My plan now is to get a tub, fill it with some of the water from the 140gal aquarium, and then catch my fish and put them in the tub.

sound like a plan?

Im now pumping all the water out of the 140gal aquarium in my basement and up into my pond.

The hope is that this water will help my fish get used to the pond water more slowly.
I have the empty tub up in the pond right now so at the correct time I shoule be able to pump small amounts of the pond water into the tub with the fish and let it overflow.

all the water from the 140gal aquarium in my basement has now been pumped upstairs to the indoor pond.
I now will move a very small water pump to begin adding pond water to the tub thats sitting inside the pond with the fish inside it.

It should take a long time for all the water both in the pond and in the tub to be mixed.

With luck this will be a good way to ease my fish into the pond's water.

I also just received info that makes me now believe that the foam is only the result of the water conditioner and will fade away in time
