NICE. I hope i can get mine looking like this, or better heheheh.

where do you live somewhere tropical? we're gonnabe digging a pond to, but winter concerns me.

great setup, the steps thing looks like a cool idea.

Looks nice, your putting a chan cat in there? You should make it wider. I have one of those guys but thes still relativly small. Well good luck!

First to solve this whole width thing what are the dimensions on this pond. I think if you want any thing go with a bunch of different kinds sunnies and bluegill. The channel cats are mean and will ruin your whole pond. They will eat all of your other fish. I know sombody who has a 1 acre pond and had it stocked with bluegills and chans and the usuall and now like 8 years later maybe we can hardly even catch bluegills. I would do maybe some crappie or perch or something liek that. Keep us updated please.

ok this is what u do. first widen the pond, by like 5 ft, then go get a bunch of small channels, like 6" ,in january. Then invite us all to an end of the summer fish fry....every year!

id like to widen it but my dad wont allow it, that fruit, also i wont have anyplace to move all that dirt, i would have to pay to have it toed away and thats not cheap

LOL!!, fish fry, maybe, sounds good, im not butchering though :grinno:

nah, i live in Chula Vista, CA, its in san diego, winters here arent freezing, (to me they are) just bitter like 40-50 degrees F.

the step thing was my dads idea, i dont like it, its pointless.

If it only gets 40-50 there in the winter it would probably be fairly easy to heat especially if you dont get any ice over there. You should look into that. Heck you could have a piranna pond outside that would allow enough p's in there for them to actually be cool. You could just throw anything in there for food table scraps raw meat plants friends family pets :grinno: .

Steps are good for emergent plants and shelter areas for small fish and fry.
