Hello, sorry I appreciate this is probably a dumb question but I have just finished sorting out the 12ftx6ftx2ft pond in my garden... is there any sort of snakehead (I know the Argus is illegal in the UK damn them!! ) that could live year round in an unheated pond in the southern UK?

Yeah I know just tempted to try and see how it goes.. as they are amazing adaptive... but like you say a bridge to far I think...pity cause how cool would that be!

They banned Argus in the UK?! When did that happen?
It was on my list of fish for when I get my own house and start digging my lake, hope that doesn't extend to Europe xD

Not certain but think it’s banned all over Europe... sorry dude but any fish that can get to 6-10feet long and survive basically being frozen is a little to much invasive potential!

No fish is banned in Belgium.
In fact we have no regulation other than "If you have over 200, you need a permit".

What!? Nothing is banned in Belgium.... like at all? I thought it was an EU wide thing, cause imagine the damage if giant SH got into Spanish or Italian waterways.

Don't be too surprised at the lack of regulation. I was in the hobby, in the USA, for decades before any regulations or restricted species lists began. Back when I started there was also no such thing as fishing licenses.
