First off, im going to start by saying that I did post this in the pond section, but theres noone in that section lol.
I am finally restocking my 7000 gallon pond after an otter ate just about every fish out of it, said otter has been removed from existence via my akita and i now need some ideas on what to put in there. I do still have a strong convict population since they breed like rabbits, they make for a nice food source but im not sure what i want to do for the main fish. I want to just do a few large fish, was thinking some oscars, a dovii, and maybe an id shark. I have a florida gar in an indoor pond that will go in there too. Anyway i just want yall to throw some names around to give me ideas, its 28x11x3 ft and im located in south florida and use heaters in the winter, so even tropical fish will work if they are on the hardy side.

Pink tilapias, albino Oscars, Midas, albino ID sharks, maybe take in few rescued pacus.

yeah, i might just rescue a few of those tank busters idiots buy without doing any research.
If I were you, I would check out Craigslist, they always have free tankbusters.

The above pic, is a little pond just outside Everglades city, it contains uropthalmus, and some kind of Tilapines. Although I usually try to discourage bringing in more invasive species, uros are probably forever entrenched there, and the idea of rescuing fish from under size tanks sounds like a good suggestion. Another pond just down the road from the one above, below.

Perhaps things differ in other areas albeit I am dubious. I've been rescuing fish, including those off CL for 8 years. First upstate NY, now south FL. Rough statistics is that there is 1 free tankbuster per 100-500 of those people want good money for. In the case of that one person, they care where the fish will go to. The rest don't.

Where in FL are you, OP?
