They are loyal and loving to anything they consider their "pack." ...And will defend them to the death. :D

get a 5 foot rtc see how good the coon does then lol try those little electric fences see if that helps you can get them anywhere

:grinno:

Another excellent idea... between a pitbull and a adult RTC I think you would no longer have to worry about anything--besides a bear!

I'd say add an electric catfish to the pond for a couple weeks. The problem will solve itself. :grinno: If you add some crayfish too, they will dispose of the body for you.

Coons are nasty things. A long time ago when I lived in Long Island one went after my next door neighbor. I mean that thing charged after her and we were screaming. Lucky her cat came to her rescue. They are known to kill cats and little dogs.
I agree go rescue a pitbull they are wonderful pets. If you can trap and relocate then that would be best. Someone is leaving food out at night. Or they are finding food somewhere near you. That is another thing.

Love all the replies, but a pit is not in my immediate future, Believe me when I say that I am a dog person at heart, but I will never admit it. Pits are awesome,I know, but my better half WILL say no. No arbitrating this fact.

I think that automated sprinklers will thwart any additional attacks for dure, relocating will do the same. And this is the most applicable scenario. I know I have racoons on my property, possums too for that matter. I think that trapping and relocating will be my plan of attack, as a 22 long rifle will wake the wife along with the neighbors.(although the best scenario in my mind!!!)

I didn;t have the time to talk to the authorities today, but it might be time for vigilante justice!

Also, anyone else note that once this post was relocated it got no hits!?

have a can of tuna tied to some fishing line hanging from tree a with a little bell at the end of it as soon as you hear it lock and load
They love tuna

Has my vote!

Sprinklers wont work very well, i have tried that with my ponds. Just build it abour 4' deep and they wont bother them anymore. we have 2 ponds one thats 6' and one thats about 2'. The 2' doesnt get anymore coons, storks, or herrins due to the lock and load tech.

There are always good apples and bad apples in our planet earth, i.e., good coons and bad coons. Thanks be to Stroppy. He found this video which shows that coons can be great pets like dogs & cats too.
