Pool Filter Information

I have a pool filter that doesn't use sand. It's a cyclinder that uses a filter cartridge like the polishing cartridge on a magnum 350. I as thinking of using it for a sump build I'm working on. Any thoughts/ suggestions?

Can you backwash it? If not the cleaning issues may make it a pain in the ...
Do you have any pics?

Here is a pic of the sand filter I use on my 500g, it holds 20kg of sand but I run about 10kg and it is designed for small pools. I comes with a built in 60w 4000L/H pump designed for continuous use.
I spoke to Justin in regard to this filter and it's suitability and I agree they are excellent filters doing both mec and bio.
I back wash once a week for about 2mins and thats it.
This sand filter is the smallest I have ever found and it perfect for aquariums.

Good to hear it's working well for you. Do you have a link where to buy in oz? I lost the thread info it was in. Is the sand properly fluidising with the 60 watt pump?
