pool filter sand for polypterus tank

would it be ok if i used pool filter sand as a cheap substrate for a 30 gallon then a 75-125 gallon?? thanks

Sure. Plenty of people use pool filter sand, I never have but I've heard it's great.

I use crushed coral in all of our tanks. We can get it in any grade we want at about 1.00 a LB. I like it a lot better than sand because it seems to keep the water a lot more stable. We experimented on a couple of our aquariums before switching and the differance was noticable.
