pool filter sand for polypterus tank

would it be ok if i used pool filter sand as a cheap substrate for a 30 gallon then a 75-125 gallon?? thanks

I use pool filter sand. It looks great. My senegal loves it. You can see it in my avatar.

I use PFS in my 120 w/ the ornate and the 75 with my albino senegal. Works fine for them

I've used fine, medium and coarse pfs with my bichirs and haven't had any problems. They seem to be able to slurp their food off the surface without getting any in their mouths and they love to skim across the smooth surface.
