Pool filter sand problem

A few weeks ago now I added pool filter sand to my tank,I washed it as much as I could.

Add it to the tank and the water went cloudy.

I left it for a while and it subsided, but every time I water change or my fish dig through it the water clouds up again.

It is really frustrating! When will it stop? Is there anything I can use to remove it all?

Should I just remove all the sand and forget about substrate?I thought going from bare bottom to sand would be good for the fish but it looks disgusting!

I used to have Crystal clear water before adding this!

It's very dusty sand and it seems like you can never get it clean before putting it in. Just leave it and eventually it will clear up. It's not worth the extra effort to remove it imo

What kind of filter do you have? I used to have play sand and had the same problem when I first added it in, after changing my spray bar I added some bubblers to kind keep the small dust like sand suspended and just let them get sucked into my overflow, in my sump I added some fine pocket foam it was a pain at first I washed the foam twice a day then once and after two weeks crystal clear water it was a bit of a pain but well worth it in the end cuz I love the look of sand over rocks

Doesn't sound like pool filter sand. Sounds like play sand. Totally different and play sand is very dusty. Pool filter sand is not

x2 I usually don't even rinse it. I just run the tank and change the socks out the next day. Really clean stuff I've used and I've used Quikcrete and Crystal Sand brands.

It's definately pfs..it was from a pool shop and the grade is 16/32.

Definately not play sand, I've used that before
