pool filter sand

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I know there was a topic about 3M Colorquartz and people were saying it is not Ray safe for long term. Due to the bag saying it can cause humans cancer etc...

I know its used in pool filters and if no one has got cancer from swimming in those pools yet, I am sticking to the varient colors of 3M Colorquartz S Grade

No Rays but do have lots of Tankmates that use the Quartz. Plus the Ray threads are the only ones to get good info for Tank Bottoms. JMO

I've been using pool filter sand. No problems so far. What's nice to about pool filter sand is it does not have to be cleaned before it's put into the tank.

I use pool filter sand I got from my local hardware store. No complaints as of yet and the dust it caused was cleared up by throwing a fine filter pad in my FX5. Took about a day.
