Pool filter sand?

i've heard you can use pool filter sand in you fish tank and it is a lot easier to clean. ive tried play sand and after hours and hours it still didnt work and when i thought it was clear i put my fish in and ended up loosing a lot of them. is there a specific pool filter sand you can use? can anyone give me any info on this or give me a like to some "safe" sand? i tried google-ing but no luck. if it is safe to use what makes it safe and easy to clean?

on my 120 gallon i used quickrete pool filter sand. i got it at auchabon hardware.

i filled a five gallon bucket 1/4 to 1/2 full with sand then stuck a hose in the sand filled up the bucket swished the sand around. then repeat several times until the water is clear.

is it true that its easier to clean or is it the same as play sand?

i throw mine into a pillow case and run the hose till clear.

yes it is easier. i use a kleen sweep to get all the poop.http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/22990/product.web

its runned by an air pump.

I use lapis lustre blasting sand. I don't even rinse it and it doesn't cloud at all. It's nice and heavy and easy to keep clean. It's easily found here in the NW but I don't know about anywhere else.

i cant find it anywhere online or anything here can u post pictures of this lapis lustre blasting sand in ur tank and maybe the bag it came in?
