Pool filter sand

I like the white sand as substrate. In my other tank i have used mystic white. It is very clean etc.... No stores near me carry it

I know a lot of ppl use lealies pool filter sand

Just wanted to know if 1) how it compares in terms of whiteness
2) how well does it need to be rinsed off

Go to lowes or Home Depot and get pool filter sand it's about 6 bucks for a 50lb bag and it's pretty white. You need to rinse it out very good.

pfs is a larger grain of sand and also a more natural color rather than white. you do need to rinse it out very well or else it will cloud the water horribly. From my experience a 50 pound bag will only produce 30 pounds of usable sand.
