pool for grow out tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Intex makes a pool that is perfect for growout. It's made sturdy. Not a blow up. I'd stay away from inflatables. It's not on the Target website right now, but when it warms up later next year they should have it up again. Best time to get them is around Nov. they are usually half off.
There are a bunch of MFKers that have the one I'm talking about.

thanks..its only 51 bucks! cant beat that. i'll eventually set up a plywood/pond liner tank in the basement but thats still more expensive than this..

I just missed them this year but the same pool Camshaft is speaking of was the same price as the one your link refers to. It was around 1200 gallons, and came with a pos filter, but had a metal frame and a thicker liner. They price them at half off right around the beginning of october. there actually is a thread on here somewhere with a feeding vid of one of these in someones basement. Here it is. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137255&highlight=pond+video

DIY.

I get a new kidie pool every summer to grow out my cichlid fry i get the smaller rectangle shaped inflatable pool 400 or 500 gal i think walmart has them 39.99.
For filtration i use a diy sponge filters some with powerheads and some just air. I have a car/boat tent thing i set up 2 or 3 ponds in for the summer the tent keeps the algea from getting to thick so i can see the fish and keeps heat of direct sunlight off the pond.

I once used a 6x6x2 blow up pool in my bedroom only filled it 12" otherwise the floor would crash. After 2 months it got a air leak and I was forced to build a 6x2x2 pond liner tank. If I was ever to do a pool again it would be a snapset with plastic walls.
