Well I got me 4 Clown loaches that I'm quarantining for about a week or so

Clown loaches are very sensitive to water condition. So if you feel that your tank water is clean enough, then a school of them is good to have. Petsmart's having a sale on them, so now's a good chance to grab a shoal of them.

Yep, that's what plecos do. I just gave my 9" sailfin to a fellow mfker for this exact reason. It's sort of funny because people get them as "cleaner fish" and they definitely produce more bioload than they clean. Clown Plecos do stay small but produce tons of bio waste. Snails will not help in your situation. Again, they produce quite a bit of waste themselves. My girl friend has 3 snails and 2 Clown Plecos in one of her tanks. They can produce quite the bioload. :)

I think you'll enjoy the Clown Loaches. They don't produce a heavy bioload and seem to spend the whole day skimming the substrate for waste. You don't need to worry about doing anything more specific with the CL than you do your other fish. Mine all do fine and are healthy and I haven't had to give them any special attention. Just regular weekly wc and keeping the tank clean and water perimeters in check and they'll be fine. :)

I miss having a Cory :( My GF called him Grandpa because of his whiskers. Sadly he disappeared in a tank full of cichlids.

I have never had any issues with my CL's. I even have CL's from walmart!

As far as what will eat poop... ton foil barbs.. lol.

Oh he didn't disappear. He likely became falay mon Corey for a lucky cichlid. :grinno:

Lol, this is too true. My tinfoils clean house in my 125g. They even get the shrapnel that comes out of Rocky's gills when he eats large pellets.

I miss having them, I had 2 of them that was just fast enough to escape the predatory jaws of Parachromis.

Matter of fact I just added two big tinfoil barbs to my tank and all my big basses poop is gone. I caught them eating it right out of their anus haha. All that massivor must still be pure ha. Now when I clean it's just dust in three gravel :)

Wow I didnt known the tinfoil barbs eat poop... good to know

I would get the loaches at 2 inches or more. I had an ich out break my fault for not having a quarantine tank and inspecting the fish at lfs before I purchased him. Anyway the 2 1 inches didnt survive the larger did. Keep the tank at 80 to 82. Lots of good info in the loach section
