Is there a fish or invert out there that eats Fish crap? I just put a 6" or 7" pleco in my 125g. He completely ate all the algae in my tank. the intire back glass and all my rocks were covered in agae and this was in a 24hr time frame. Then he pooped it all out on my white sand. and his crap is bigger than rat crap. But this pleco rocks :headbang2

ah yes the elusive poop eating fish. Short answer yes there is. Its called a scat, and it is a SW fish that can be converted into a fw fish.

dont make the same mistake as me and type scat into google image search

how come i cant see my post on the fourms? Any ways i just dont want to clean up his poop every day. I have a 130lb american bulldog that i have to pick up after

the scat fish is pretty cool looking. i would not mind having one. But how well would they do in a strictly fresh water cichlid tank?

I'd think the only way to remove poop is the filter or vac it out. Think about it, if a fish eats the poop what is that fish going to do. Poop. So its a never ending cycle.

true but maybe it would be smaller poop and not huge poop

I doubt theres a fish that would regulary eat poo because theres virtually no nutritional value and its all the bad stuff anyway. Some noobs think plecs eat poo. They dont.

Very true. I know plecos dont eat poop, he ate all the algae in my 125g over night. i just thought there might be some creature out there that would break it down some.
