poor fish found this on kijiji..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm actually not sure how the FH or other cichlids didn't pick on all the fish, because they don't appear to be beat up. The cichlids don't even appear to have been fighting with each other. Weird.

Silver arows don't always fight with each other regardless of sides. Depends on the individual fish, and probably sex too.

Maybe the pic isn't recent. :\

if that aro is 18" the tank looks to be about 6x2x2 so that would make it much bigger than a 75. sure the fish look kinda cramped but hes keeping them in much better conditions than I've seen some in the past. Also Kijiji is much better than craigslist because you type the name of your city for example, Calgary.kijiji.ca or edmonton.kijiji.ca and the entire site will be local things for sale. I got my 225 on there for 200 bucks

That isn't a 6 ft tank. It's a standard 4ft 75. I've looked at LOTS of used tanks and had several 75g. No hang on back filter looks like that on the side of a 6x2 tank.
You can also look at the stand and the stuff under it and know it's a 4ft tank.

A 6x2 would be the same footprint as my 220. It certainly isn't.

okay I didn't realise we had a tank measuring expert on the forum tonight. If you read my comment you would see that I said "judging by the size of his aro" which he said was 18" long.
I honestly thought that nobody in their right mind would put that combination of fish in a 75. I saw a 75 in the LFS yesterday and no way would an 18" and all those other fish fit in their like they do in that link.

Sorry, asked my wife. It's bookoo.com that the military folks like. Really good site, friend of mine got a 125 labeled as a 55 for $75 on that site.

Ah. I used to help out at my friend's fish store, and it doesn't surprise me at all. People are crazy, ignorant, outright don't listen, or all three.
I once saw a woman's kid ask for a betta for the little critter creeper they were buying and she screamed at him "That tank is too big for those!" and pulled him away. She then proceeded to buy 6 baby comets....

And I'm not a tank measuring expert, I've just bought and sold a lot of tanks, and viewed lots of pictures on craigslist. I didn't mean to come off rude, you just get an idea of what certain tank sizes look like in pics when you view pictures all day looking for tanks to buy. :)
And 75g and 55g seem to be the most common "huge tank" (as described by online sellers) for sale, so I've seen a lot of them. Also seeing arows and big cichlids in 75g or even 55g tanks isn't uncommon if you browse online ads.

As far as fish sizes on ads, take that with a grain of salt. Just about everyone over exaggerates the size if they're looking to sell fish to people looking for big ones, and understates the size if they're looking to pawn off a big undesirable fish on someone.
