they are talking about.Usually,they base their anti carp comments on
misinformation obtained from people even more ignorant that they are.
The simple fact is that the common carp has been swimming in waters
around the US for well over a century,and a good number of those
originally stocked in the US were done so by the US government.
It is really amazing how a fish that has been well established in this
country for over 100 years can still be considered an invasive species
despite the fact that they were living in more waters around the US long
before many of the species they are said to be a threat to.Indeed the
carp has become a popular scapegoat for man made environmental
issues.
Why is it that nobody questions the stocking of many waters with
other non native species such as Brown Trout or Stripped Bass or
the introduction of US natives well outside of their natural ranges?
