To be honest most things you put in there are going to be lunch or if there big shreded to bits and die from stress.


You could try tiger barbs as they are small and fast but the may well get eaten if your dovii gets hungry.

if youve got lots of rock work you could try convicts as they are fast and hide when threatend but if they breed they could give your dovii a run for there money.
I have bred many central american cichlids and cons are awesome when brood protecting. my big jaguar had to be removed from my 300 gallon for its safety.

Listen to me,i swear by these fish(have kept with Piranhas)Try some Black Skirt Tetras,they are small enough not to poise a threat to your Dovii's,plus they are fast enough not to be caught.And if they do get caught,they are cheap enough to replace.I kept 12 of these guys for a year with a 12 inch Black Rhom.You really should have a spare tank for your Female Dovii anyways.
