My GT has been acting strange for the past 2 days. He has stopped moving around pretty much at all. Hasn't been eating anything and has been letting his clown loach tankmates get away with a lot.

I have noticed his belly/bum area looks rather swollen and enlarged. Tried to take a picture, any ideas?

looks like internal parasites. feed him garlic soaked pellets that'll take care of it, u gotta hurry up treating with garlic feeding or u can lose him.

Yes. This is a green terror. Getting sick for no reason is what they do. Obviously, I should recommend antiparasitic meds, but that usually doesn't work. Hopefully somebody with a living GT can help you.

:iagree: I agree for the most part but I have a few questions.

Is there any poo at all? with and stringy?

Also could be a bad case of constipation. What do you feed him? do you mix up the diet or do you feed the same thing all the time.

Is he bloated everywhere? Are any scales starting to protrude? If the answers are yes to these last questions then you looking at something else, possibly dropsy.

He eats tetra doromin and sometimes tries to eat bloodworm. Tried to feed him other foods but he won't eat anything else! His scales seem fine, there is just a slight lump under his belly - no other signs of anything else being wrong.

No poo, not that I have seen.

Not sure how I will get him to eat anything garlic, ^^ he is turning his noes up at EVERYTHING.

Could try feeding garlic soaked pellets and epson salt at the same time and hit it from two different angles. It sounds more like constipation. If you feed the soaked pellets and the use epson salt, the salt might cure him and he might start eating slowly. walk away after feeding. Come back in 15min if he hasnt touched them then remove them. This way if he is shy because he is supper stressed and starting to feel better from the salt then he might eat when your not watching.

Try putting some salt in the tank to clean him out. Sounds like he might have a blockage.

try 1 TBS per 5 gals
