My Big Dat has Popeye. I think he must have injured it fighting. It started to cloud up so I have been treating him with Melafix, which is an anti bacterial treatment. So far the cloudyness is being kept at bay and it's not getting worse. But his eye is still swelling out. He's on day 4 of the treatment. As the direction indicate on the bottle it says to keep treating with the full dose for 7 days. Or until it's healed. He has als not been eating well during this ordeal. I suspect he may not like to eat wit hte medicine in the water.
My questions are:
1. should I treat him everyday, as suggested?
2. How long will it take for his eye to shrink back to normal?
3. If the cloudyness is not getting worse, thats a good sign yes? Even though it's still swelling outward?
4. Should I be doing anything else in addition to treating for a bacterial infection?
