Portable Ponds?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
should work assuming the material is tough enough that a gar can't puncture it through with its teeth. seems like there could be cheaper alternatives out there though, those prices seem pretty high--

hrad enough or not, these kind of pond only stand for about 2 years, and the price is too high, you could get a pool more than 1000G at walmart for less than $200, if you want a tank that can stand the weather and good enough to keep the gar, I think this is a cheap tank: http://www.plastic-mart.com/class.php?cat=41

Thanks I will have to check those out I will be keeping these indoors. I aslo found another company that sells a portable pond and it looks like its made better than the first one. http://www.koiscapes.com/subcat144.html

what depth do most of you keep your gars at?

John

most on the site keep them at 24" depth or less...this is a pretty coarse generalization, but it's a ballpark estimate that works--

PS - keep in mind people with tanks will differ somewhat than people with ponds, so you may want to specify.--

Yes that image pond is nice but the price is so high that I really think its appreciable to purchase it. There are so much options available with good quality.
