I HOPE THIS ISN'T A HIJACK:

How fast are they supposed to grow?
None of my Senegal's (3 babies about 2 to 3 inch each and 1 about 9 inch) looks as though they have NOT added any length.
The 9 inch has been with me since about last February (I think)

once senegals hit about 8" they really slow down in growth. As for the other two babies, they should be growing like weeds. Are these fish all in the same tank? if so the big senegal might be stealing all the food.

As for the original topic - yeah just get both...let's face it you'll want both eventually. The price is a little high but not ridiculous (at least not for my part of the country).

i think i do want both, but not at the moment. which one of the two will get the biggest? also do the senegals maintaen their colors as they grow?

it takes a long time to get them full grown
almost bought an ornate 22" fish was 15 years old
mine ornate is 2 years at 11" she has lots of comp for food and is rairly seen
i would take the endli myself
segs will keep there color

segs max out at 12" i would say 9" its pretty well full grown
2 and 3 inch should be growing like weeds
is there lots of comp for food?

here in our place the endli is way much expensive than the ornates its like a ratio of 1:3

ornates are a little easier to find i would def get the endli. i have two ornates and i wish one of them was a endli instead. at the store i work at we sell 3" ornates for 30 so that price is high. i cant even get endlis. i would def get the endlis!!
