market prawn or shrimp with their shell detached or intact is one of the best sources for arowanas.
other options are:centipede, crickets, bullfrogs, superworms, mealworms, basically anything live is a good choice
I did. I fed a similar frozen bagged mix (octopuss, squid, mussels, fish) to my fish once. I have large south american cichlids, Aro, etc... The only ones eating the octopuss and squid were the Oscars and the piranhas (but then they are garbage cans, not fish hehe). I think octopuss/squid meat might be a little though...or the smell is just not what they want. All my other fish, including the Aro, just looked at it sink in the bottom and swam away.
You can try, just rinse them that's all. But I'm pretty sure the Aro won't want it. As said, if you want cheap meaty foods go with shelled prawns, or smaller "cocktail shrimps"...which have no shells. The mussel meat is also liked by all my fish...
