Possible arowana fin rot?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
And so far I've been proven right...once we start asking for all of the info that the OP doesn't want us to know (because he now knows he is not taking proper care of his aquariums) he disappears and lets the thread go. It's sad because the outcome is most likely going to be a few dead fish that could have been saved.

Is this Aro in the same tank as the TSN?

Seems kind of odd that you are posting about two of your fish that appear to have the same symptoms as if they are completely unrelated.

To get some better feedback, please answer the following questions:

How is the TSN doing?

Are the Aro and the TSN in the same tank?

How large is the tank?

What are you using for filtration and at what flow rate?

What are the water parameters in the tank (AMMONIA, NITRITE and NITRATE)?

How often do you do water changes?

How much water do you change during your water changes (please answer as a percent of the overall system volume, or tell us how large the tank is and how many gallons you change)?

What are the NITRATES at right before you change the water (you need to test this before every water change to monitor if it is under control)?

Are there any other tank mates with the Aro and/or the TSN?

What is your feeding schedule and how much of what do you feed?

Are the fish in question eating ok?

Let's start with these and if you can provide this information then I'm sure that you will be able to get a lot of helpful advice.
To answer your ? Tsn doing a lot better grew tail back top fin.
Both aros are in smaller tanks treating my jardini with melafix and same for silver. I did notice when lights are out at night the aros seem to jump a lot so that might be possible reason.
Tsn is in my 200g by itself now
Filters running are 2 ac110s and 2 bubblers will be adding 2 fx6
Been changing water once a week at a 50% water change
Feeding for the silver eats pelets i feed once a day. While i was feed the silver the jardini would grab the pelets n crush it and spit it out causing a whole bunch of small food floating around. Tsn eats beef heart tryna get him to eat pelets.
As far as testing went to lfs couldnt find a test kit so still waiting on restock. Jardini eats blood worms n beef heart too.
I do have a 55g that houses my 2 flowerhorn and they are perfectly fine no problems with them only my big tank has problems. Al so took out my plecos in big tank.

With all the info you guys provide helps it did for the tsn. So i really appreciate the help im not hiding anything or running away from a problem. When i treated the tsn people told me change water everyday keep temps up. So i did that and it worked!

Can you please provide a total stock list for your large tank? Not what is in there now but what was in there. It sounds like you had two aros, a TSN, some plecos, and maybe something else. With all of those fish and the fact that you are feeding beef heart, which is a very messy food makes me think that your nitrates (and probably TDS) are up pretty high, which is not good for the fish. I'd recommend taking some tank water to the LFS so they can test it. Almost any of them will test it for free. That will help us figure out where your at right now.

Also, so that we have a wholistic picture, can you update us on all of your tanks and what is currently in them? This will be very helpful.

My lfs do not test water so i would have to wait till i can get my hands on a water testing kit.
