Possible arowana killer

wow I came across this thread because my two juvie silvers wont eat today and the only thing they will ever eat is fd Krill. I havent soaked them and I've only had em two days. I did just do a water change shortly before trying to feed them and am hoping there still ticked about all the comotion in their new home. Will be much more careful feeding them in the future that is if I havent damaged them enough already! (fingers crossed)

This sound similar to what happened to my large 28" silver aro last night. I think the process was a little faster but similar. Aro keepers be aware!
 
I'm barely on page 3, so forgive me (and ignore me) for asking this if it has already been asked and answered... but since the shrimp tails give suck good color... what if we just took them off the body and stuck them INSIDE the shrimp's body. That way they won't be in direct contact with any body parts, and it can be digested once the shrimp is digested...

Here is a general timeline:
Cloudy eyes, treated with melafix.

(1 week later)
everything is great

(1 week later)
Tuesday: Fish is fine, eating well, swimming, and acting like the world is his. From here on in we'll refer to this as "normal"
Wednesday: Slight gasping Slowly opening and closing mouth), but otherwise normal.
Thursday: Turning pale, gasping, swimming, not eating
Friday: Swimming like you would imagine a drunk fish, being lethargic, laying down, pointing vertical with nose down and tail up, then dead.

That sucked to hear. We think that everyone else should take this into consideration and discuss it. The thing that really ads to this is the picture below of blood coming out of my fish when I removed him from the tank. We're not sure if this is what is the cause, but it's definitely something to keep in mind. If you have any input or advice, please share it. We would not like to see fellow Arowana owners go through the same deal. It sucks to watch a fish die and know there is nothing you can do to help it.

So, MFK, what are your thoughts on this matter?

my silver arow died the same way same symptoms but befor he died he hand like an attack he was swming ever .

but i never ffed him shrimp i only feed him pellets crickets meals worms

Let me know if you're actually able to stuff the tail inside the body of the shrimp LOL.
 
I'm no longer going to feed freeze dried shrimp or krill to my silver aro because I believe it effected it's digestive system for a few days. He didn't eat for a while. Fortunately, he is eating again, but he now ignores the fds he used to devour. His staple will now be peeled market prawn and the flakes I throw into to feed my flagtail.
 
#1 killer of arowana is the owner itself that have no knowledge on keeping arowanas and only care because they look cool.

#2 Stresses out arowana.

#3 Ones they are stressed out, they might jump out of the tank if they find an opportunity to jump.

#4 Stressed out aros have a low immune system and bacteria, parasites and viruses will soon attack the aro.

#5 An aro with disease sometimes stop eating and will eventually starve itselft to death if the bacteria, parasite or viruses won't kill it first.
