Yes - Dwarf caimans can be very dangerous.
While they don't have the bone crushing bite of Nile or Saltwater Croc - about 2,000-3,000 psi (BTW).
They can still deliver a bite powerful enough to remove fingers, from their keepers hand - if the keeper is careless.
Also I've heard news reports of live caimans being found in lakes in North Carolina. These were caimans bought at Herp shows that had outgrow they owners ability to care for them. So the owner released them in to the near by lake - not thinking that they could be potential endangering other people & their pets.
So Caimans can survive outdoors any where that a alligator can.
