Possible difference between WILD caught and not(Silver Aros)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's kinda hard to tell as some Indonesian breed silver aro have longer barbels about almost the same length of it's head. They also have higher shine level. I've also seen some that the shine almost crossed. It's like a high back silver aro but not asian. However some captive breed just look crappy when they are young. Wild caught are much better looking even smaller ones.

could it be that those Indo silver's parents were wild caught?

I dont think so...

If you want a longer barbel silver just house the silver in a dark tank. After sometime it will have longer barbels.:D

I agree, but you need to start them as juvies first. I actually do the same thing with my asian aros. However it doesn't seems to work with adults.

Do wild caught silvers not get DE? If not, why not everyone get them? How can I get one? Are they big $$? Sorry for all the (???) but I’m doing my research before I buy. :nilly:
