No
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes
What percentage of water do you change?
71-80%
How frequently do you change your water?
Every week

I'm currently working at my local family owned fish store.
We acquired a baby Oscar that had sunken belly and is blind in one eye.
I quarantined it, put it on hold, treated it with prazipro, and got it eating. The little guy was doing great. Boss moved it into the tank with the other baby Oscars to sell yesterday.
This morning when I got to the store, it was sitting on the bottom of the tank in the corner looking pretty beat up. By the time I closed, it had what looks like a severe fungal infection. I texted my boss, told her what was going on and asked if I could keep it.
By the time I got the little guy home, it was in such bad shape that it let me just pick it up without any fight.
I dabbed a bit of peroxide on the infected area, and it's currently in a 10 gallon with 3 tablespoons of salt, and paraguard.
I did the peroxide treatment because whatever this guy has is pretty aggressive, so I figured it would need aggressive treatment.
It's currently floating on its side in the back corner of the tank.

Anything else I can do for this little guy? I've been emotionally invested in it since it showed up at the store.

I don't have test results as I just set up the hospital tank he's in today.
As far as the store water, I'm not sure. Last time I ran tests, the nitrates were running at around 40 ppm. I do weekly 75% water changes on all of the tanks.

Judging by the first pic it does look fungal idk about the second pic tho it was probably caused by weak immune system (prob had parasites) and stress from getting beat up by other Oscar’s, fungus is in every tank, it only attacks when the fish immune system is weakened I would treat for fungal and the lesions caused by the fungus might also cause a bacterial
I once had a betta named fury (may he rest and swim in peace ) who had a terrible fungal infection on his tail, I qt him and he lost all his fins but came back and lived for much longer

so don’t get too attached to it but hope for the best since he look very weak, I hope he recovers and grows big as I love Oscar’s.
I can’t really recommend Any meds but maybe (pond) api pimafix and pond melafix
(It’s ok to overdose a lil just add more aeration)

Could be columnaris. I’d dose some salt and furan2/kanamycin. Cross your fingers.

Could be but I googled pictures of columnaris and it looks like an an open white sore or red
Also if it it just body fungus I forgot to say methalyine blue (Ik I butchered the spelling) as it combats fungus, both dose the water with it and get a qtip and dab it on there
(Is the fungus/white area furry/fuzzy and flowy like hair?)

It is fuzzy like fur. Little guy made it through the night and is a bit more active today. I know it's not out of the woods just yet, but I'm definitely getting my hopes up.

If it’s fuzzy like that it most likely is just regular body fungus (idk about the characteristics of columnaris but I saw pics and it looks different) if it is getting more active and healing then he will probably survive body fungus is pretty easy to cure
