Possible Honduran red point sex

Picked him up yeaterday and hes doing great eating and swimming up to the glass. He/she still looks a bit washed out these pics were a couple of hours after introducing it to the tank. Can anyone possibly tell me the sex?

had these years ago...there blue was intense and the males had red in there fins...WOW

Looks male because I believe I saw red in the tail in pic one and two. If there is indeed red in the tails than def male. females have no color in the tail. How is he doing with the yellow acara.

For some reason the colors don't show up but there is actually allot of red in thw tail. The acara has left him alone and has not gotten aggressive during feeding which he usually beats up the clown loach. Will tey and take better picks later

HRP colors not showing up on pics is common and so frustrating because they have the best colors in person IMO. I don't know why that is guess just not photogenic . So looks like you got your male good for you.

Yes he is really colorful even my wife said "wow". I've read ad that if they show signs of aggression it may not be a true hrp is there any truth to that because this little guy is definitly not timid.

No that's not true mine are a bit aggressive with each other and I got mine from a very reputable breeder. There is a boss in my group but they aren't overly aggressive with each other if that makes sense. Certainly aren't as aggressive as regular cons.

I compare their aggression to fire mouths flaring at each other chasing everyone once in a while but no damage and not constant chasing.

Yup thay kind of sound like my little flares and chases the loach but nothing more I wish the colors would come up in the pics..he has a sheen to him and his tail is blue and red....hopefully without the flash it will come up. Are they quick growers ? The plan was to move them all into one tank with a 6 inch O but no way I would be comfortable mixing rhis little guy with him now
