I believe this fish is a female, but I could be wrong. I vented her when I first got her and she appeared to be female. The problem is I have no idea what kind of fish it is. I was hoping it would be possible to pair it with my adult male Jack Dempsey. Could someone help me identify what kind of fish it is and if it is possible to breed it with my Jack Dempsey. My LFS told me that it was an American Cichlid. Whether it is North, South, or Central I don't have a clue. Thanks in advance.

Here she is:

Can anyone identify if it is a male or female? I'm curious to know if I was correct. What would be a good hybrid outcome if I paired 'it' with something? Thanks again.

Thanks for all the answers everyone. I added a female JD to the tank a few days ago because the male she was with decided to kill himself by getting stuck under a rock. The two seemed to have hit it off but there is a major size difference. Could that be a problem? The male is about 8-9" and the female is 3-4". The male has spawned once and the female has spawned twice. Thanks again for all the answers.
