It depends on the BP. They are pretty bold but I never see mine chasing anything but another BP. This changes when they lay eggs though, they will chase anything that comes near the nest. It only lasts a couple days and if nothing is there to fertilize them, they eat them and its business as usual.

OK correct me if I'm wrong here...but anything I have read on Blood Parrots was that they were a Human bread fish. They were sterile and did not lay eggs. The only way you could reproduce this fish was by cross breeding the original fish which if memory serves me right was a severum and something else.

some more small stupid ugly boring africans. Am I the only one who doesn't like community tanks of little africans? The only ones I like are parrots and kenyi.

just because they are sterile doesn't mean that they don't lay eggs:screwy:. it means that the eggs won't hatch.

in my tank, i used to have a breeding pair of parrots, and a single male jewel cichlid. the bps remained dominant together until the jewel got big enough to own both of them. jewels are nasty (as in, if you were to pit a jewel against a con, the jewel would dominate). dont add a blood parrot. go for another jewel:D
