Possible to have Alligator gar with..?

. i was planning to get the much smaller ones though for just my 75 gallon tank. so the gator gars would be approximately 6 or 7 inches only. if they do grow, their growth will be stopped due to the tank size. so is it really impossible to have ornate birchs in there given that both are given the tank restriction?

That's why do some research before buying your fish, but you're in the Philippines, correct? So you can just always build a monster comm pond.

Or a large glass tank about 12x12x5 feet. Build from concretes and with a glass front to be able to see the fish.

Absolutely wrong! I think this is the biggest piece of mis-information in the hobby!

Since your in "Pinas" you could easily build a large pond for a small price.

Only time will tell when the gator gar strikes the ornate bichirs. Captive breed ornates only max out 16-18 inches and rarely get up to 20". Captive breed gator gar can get up to 5-6 feet or more. I used to have 3 gator gars back in the Philippines too all at 5-6 feet and I used to feed them with 2 feet long kois. An ornate bichir would look like worm to a gator gar.

how many years does it take for your gars to reach that size?
I have a gator gar and I think its about 9inches.hehe

A pond is definitely your best bet if you want a gator gar that will grow to a healthy and natural size.
