Could be, never know, they are known for changing, some go from brown to gold, both and some stay gold.
Yeah I had a Xanto a few years back that went from a dark brown colour to a yellow colour, I then moved the xanto on to a friend and after a while it changed back to the brown colour and still is to this day I believe, is it something to do with the water conditions they live in that can change there colouration?? I'm not sure
That's why I'm having a hard time dropping $$ on one because once it gets to my tank, it may change.
The one I had was a boring fish it done literally nothing lol just sat there lol, I wouldn't have another personality, I'm just sticking with pseuda's and panaques, love em
