AWESOME FISH EVERYONE! Say, I had a question after drooling over these dovii and figured this would be a fine enough place to ask. How big of a tank should one have to house a male dovii?

a large single male dovii should be in at least a 150 and up because the 150 is wide enough for the fish to turn around in the tank ..

What kind of foot print are you thinking of? I guess like most tanks that size there are different footprints. I have a 125 that is 18" and I know dovii can get huge. I would like to get a 240 gallon someday, something like an 8 x 2 x 2 tank but that will be a good 6 months to never away before that happens. :irked:

This topic is brought up time after time. Instead of telling to to use the search function I will give you my opinion. I think the min. for life for a male Dovii should have a footprint of 8 x 30" if not a little larger. You would be fine with a 180 for a few yrs if bought small. A 150 is to small, also not only should the size be thought of but they make a lot of waste so water volume is important and often over looked with the large species.
