post combinations of fish that usually don't work but yours is the exception

In my younger days i used to have a tank
with following fish: 1 oscar, 2 b schwanenfeldi, 2 of those black goldfish, a livingstoni and some assorted corydoras and small african cichlids they were in a 60 gallon and it "worked" without much problems for about a year or 2.

thats true... i have an oscar in with venustus.. {he is huge} so yes it does not sound that unusual after all..different but not odd..

isn't that incompatible, diet and size are similar enough

they eat the same cichlid food but i also give venustus some special things since he is almost hand fed...he has been in with them for over a year after i had to split the female and him up after 40 babies.. and he rules the 125gal tank..
