Hey guys,

I see a lot of bigger fish obviously dumped in local fish stores by people who can no longer care for them. If the mods allow it, I think it might be cool if we give each other a heads up and maybe someone can pick some of these guys up and give them a good home.

Last time I went to Caye's in SE Portland they had a foot long RTC and a 1.5 foot silver arowana stuffed in 55 gallon tanks. They also have some bigger ball sharks and stuff.

There are also always the big plecos at Wet Spot. And the big oscars no one wants.

There is a HUGE H. Psittacus at World of Wet Pets in Beaverton, OR that someone brought in. Biggest one I've ever seen, easily one foot, stuffed in a 55 gallon. They also have some huge bichirs and plecos. And some pretty big spiny eels that looked miserable in gravel too. Also a very nice big glass banging red devil.

If you're interested in anything, obviously call them first.

Mods, please close if this is inappropriate. I think it can only help some fish out to get a good home.

Post if you know of anything people might want.

Feel sad for those fish. Hope some kind soul with a large tank here can house them. Even if it is for awhile, its better than a 55g

This is a good idea. Maybe a sticky in each of the regions sections? That way you could see what is in your area instead of having to look through stuff all over the country.

Excellent idea Jeff. I couldn't see any staff member wanting something like this closed, it's doing good for the hobby. Only issue I see is it getting closed automatically after the days expire. I'll ask the staff their thoughts on adding regional stickies to help out. Good on ya for looking pout for the unwanted.

Cayes does seem to be the catch all for unwanted fish but there are plenty that get handed off to smaller shops.

I know what poor Oscars you are talking about..... I remember one Albino Oscar at Wetspot with bad HITH with a piece of grave stuck in one of the holes.

I like the idea. Let me know if you seen any Midas.

Thanks everyone.

Chris- that "red devil" at wet pets looked pretty Midas to me, come to think of it. Obviously it's likely to he a midevil, but it actually looked more Midas. It had a TON of personality.

Do you recall price and size? Definite male?

I know they listed some 3" Labiatus on there site, wish they would list the larger fish as well. I hate calling there because I always get this one guy who doesn't know a goldfish from a neon tetra.
