Can't wait for purple up to kick in....just got a bottle yesterday and used it today. Is purple of like a bacterial addictive, where it doesn't hurt to put a lot or should I monitor calcium? I asked this, back in this thread because who doesn't want purple on their rocks to make them look better....healthier

definately monitor calcium, this product is mostly ionic Ca.

Not only calcium but magnesium as well. They go hand in hand, without proper magnesium levels the calcium in the system is useless.

Follow the directions on the bottle and definitely don't go over the recommended dose unless you know your take does not have enough calcium. Testing will still be necessary because no too tanks are the same and your system may be using more or less calcium than the general dose.

You should be shooting for 400-450ppm calcium and magnesium between 1250-1350ppm.
