I have a Local breeder/fish shop down the road from me that has discus. I would take photos, but no cameras in the store I wonder why. I ask usa aquariums where he got his discus from, before he started breeding them, and he didn't answer me. he said where do I get them, I breed them. I stop going there. only thing I get there, is when I run out of blood worms, and don't know it. hikiri 1 pack 3.99 buy 5 3.49 each, buy 10 2.99 each.

Thats a good deal on blood worms!! 10 @ $2.99... I'll take 10.. The pet store closest to me is like that.... a little shady. I wont buy fish there either. Just food. crickets and blood worms mostly. sometimes I mix it up with some freeze dried stuff..

I just purchased 2 silver-dollar-sized blue discuss. So far they are doing well, but one of them has like an extension on it's top fin or dorsal fin. It looks like an angler... but on his back??? Any idea what this is??? These are my first discuss. I'll post a pic as soon as I get new batteries.

If you ever have the spare cash you can buy several lbs of flatpacks at once fairly cheap. Trust me its good to be well stocked. Happy discus are ravenous. One of my groups of 23 adults eats a whole 16oz flat every 2 weeks or so.

Good discus can come from anywhere. So can bad. There are good and bad breeders and dealers in Taiwan, Malayasia, Indonesia, Philipines, as well as the USA.

The most important thing is that the discus don't suck. Sucky discus are notoriously hard to deal with and seem to enjoy dying. :D
