Post Pics of Your Limas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Update: mine are still about 7" and 8-9", and both of them still look almost exactly the same as they did in my OP, they have both filled out a little more (especially the smaller one). Oh and also, mine have finally started coming out when the tank lights are on (which is partially thanks to my eel and my sailfin pleco pushing them out of their hiding place multiple times a day).

nice...would you like some of my wonder water to be shipped to you?:naughty: as mines still growing bigger and eatting a half a tilapia fillet at a time...it has put on and extra 4 inches if you count the regrowth of its tail flesh and fin after each gar attack...

How about you just send me your entire tank (including the lima) :D, but seriously, I just can't understand how you got a year's worth of grow out of your lima in just a matter of a few months.

My temp fluctuates from about 81F-85F throughout the day (our A/C hasn't been working right for the past couple weeks, so room temp gets pretty high in the afternoon), and I feed them about 4-5 times per week, so I guess that might be the reason mine have grown so much slower.

I'd like to see that.

more food and warmer water= fast metabolic rate and faster growth...something i have found out over the years...if i do break the 2' mark before a year it'll be another record title for growth rates in my set ups...the only fish that isn't growing is my L18...that basterd has grown 1" in 1.5 yrs:WHOA:...

Have you guys noticed your limas hanging nose down, vertically in the water column frequently? Paco likes to ride the air bubbles in that position a lot I've noticed.
