Awesome eels everyone. I tried a fire eel and tire track eel once. The fire eel had an infection and died, the tire track I'm not sure what happened to him but he was still tiny when he died.

I'm thinking about picking up another one though, would love another fire eel but the only thing carried around here are tire track and peacocks.

I cannot I.D. this Mastacembelidae for the life of me.These "eels" are unbelievably hardy.I've had him since last summer and it would only eat live.Well, it just finally started eating massivore and has quadrupled the size he's been.I just want to know if this one gets as big as the TT's and the fire's.I think it might, it got fat real quick.
Pardon the bad angles, he loves to hide.

My eel is well over the 30 inch mark.....And still growing quite strong....it's now seeing 5-2 inch shrimp for nightly feedings....

^^ Your right, it is Gr8,I remember the thread where he extended his arm along the tank to show the length.He has a beast of an eel.

here is my little guy. Kinda weird, but this guy does not burrow in my sand at all. Kinda figured that i would never see him cause he would burrow all the time. But he free swims all the time.

Looks like Armatus to me (Zig Zag Eel).. Fishbase says around 35" or so.

First 1 was a true eel that i had for a year but then died.Other's are mine or my bro's spiney's.Fire eel is mine he's called "ferris" (sad i know).
