Never ever heard of any spiny eel hybrids, gather these will be man made as usual :irked: How do you know the sp they used, or is this just a educated guess? Would like to know more about these hybrids, any information appreciated.:)
 
hey i was wondering if i could keep 2 tt eels in a 60gal with 3 sa cichlids? or if you can even keep tt eels together

Don't know for sure but have heard in captivity they can hybridize and it has the marking's of both species .

i think its cooler to get them small and raise them but hey everyone has their own opinions

It's a NZ longfinned Eel, (Anquilla dieffenbachii). They can grow to 2m long a weigh 40kg, so this is just a small one - about 90cm long.

I lured it out with some pieces of fish to take the pictures.
