i just got a fire eel about a month ago and hes about 15" long and he doesn't come out from his "hideout" until its dark. will he eventually come out during the day or do they hide for most of the time?

Mostly just live blood worms. Occasionally he will try ghost shrimp.

My little guy (10") never seems to hide either. These guys are not in the same tank btw. From what I understand the are most night creatures tho.

Nice pics everyone. MissMassPoly, that Fire is a beaut. 20 crawlers??? I thought my striped peacock was a beast for wanting more after I give him two earthworms...

he was huge when i got him but i put him in a 450 to see how big i can get him.He has grown a few inches in a month.
