**POST SHELL DWELLER TANKS HERE**

I don't think its possible to have too many shells for a shellie tank. For just a pair though at least 5 shells IMO. Let them choose which one they want to live in because the seem to never live in the ones you want them to. ;) And like Pittbull said, sand is the way to go!
 
yes... i agree
i have black sand in my shellie tank as you can see in my pictures
always have an ample amount of shells
 
ya i like to keep way more shells than need in bunches all throughout the tank , gives more choices and lets any males start up new colonies , instead of fighting !@!
 
my 8 gallon shellie tank has about 10 shells

Hey onlikedonkeykong go to page 1 post #6 that first photo is my 55gal shellie setup a more current photo is that i have added texas holey rock on both sides of the large center piece with 20 or so more shells added..

Here is the progress..


1. What my 55gal shellie tank looked like for a few years..

2. 55gal with all the creek rock out with a large center piece shell fields on both sides..

3. Finished look with texas holey rock on each side of center piece shells are still in place..

very nice! makes me wanna tear down my 55g angel tank and put my brevis and multies in there, my wife would kill me though as it is her first tank
