My personal use salmon gear: Penn 975 International with 17 pound big game. Custom 10'6" Rouge rod. Both gifts from very happy clients. Love the Penn reel for personal use, not great reels for client use (plastic gears, so you have to be careful). For client rigs I use penn 209s or GL's on 9 foot G.Loomis rods for salmon. For halibut and lingcod I use Avet reels on 6-7 heavy ugly sticks or Lamiglass rods.
