wc or cb ?The eyes and head shape ae different than my old del (cb) its probably between 12 and 13 inches. Only thing thst makes me question wc is the beer belly after eating amd the huge appetite. Im happy with it either way but was curious.
yay! The last picture is super cute. If it is a CB, then they did a great job with keeping the thick banding and the elongated head shape.

- Are you saying that on head shape or beer belly or both?I wanted to say CB to comparing it to WC Udon's head and body shape but I have a limited sample size.
For body, mine stays sleek even with a big feeding - she is girthy but doesn't get that distended look. That being said, I think yours has nicer markings IMO. Very solid, even, thick stripes, which I'm a huge fan of. Super cool!

Thank you, I am really happy with the group I got in November, but the growth on three of them sucks! But at the same time, it's kinda cool having three stunner dels that don't seem like they'll grow past 4"
I got them from a fish store in Long Beach called Toms tropical fish. Been going there for years and the shop owner is really chill. Always offers me a beer when I'm there
So yeah about the del, it is mainly the body shape that tells me it's CB. I've never seen a WC bichir that has that belly after eating, they do get a food bulge but not the gut like a CB unless they haven't eaten in a long time.
I don't really judge by headshape anymore on delhezi because CB delhezi have improved a lot over the years to the point they almost pass for WC based on pattern and head shape; Jaws's is a perfect example of that.
I love the symmetrical thick stripes on a WC Del too, but even in WC Dels it's not easy to find. You should've see this female I had nine years ago, she was perfect! Long, thick, perfect stripes, and from the Congo.

Yeah, the belly is an easier "tell" I think if the WC generally don't get that. The heads are harder for me but I think if I scrutinize I can guess... just not be sure.
Interesting that some of your Dels from Nov haven't grown more than 2". Seems strange for Dels but maybe that's just the luck of the draw.
I understand wanting different ones (aka no patterning) since you have so many. But if I can have just one I want to be sure it has at least some stripes. I just love the contrast.
