This is the biggest fish I own at the moment. Female JD and she's gotta be pushing 7" by now. She'll be 2 yrs old (in my care from 1 1/2") around February 08.

I bulked her up on Red worms (earthworms) from Wal Mart, Hikari cichlid gold pellets. She still eats worms and LOVES them, but seems to like Krill a lot more these days.

Nice fish everyone!!:headbang2

she's gorgeous! only two years? mine was probably three years when she got that big. My male is about that big now, and my female is about 9 inches, she's two or three years older than the male. Here's pic of my dempsey, the best pic of them as a pair ended up my avatar. I don't know why I posted that pleco, you said cichlid. Sorry.:hitting:

when you say red worms do you mean live worms like bait worms? do you feed them live?

Yep. They come in a small container and are called "Red Worms/Trout & Panfish Worms"

They range from 2"-4" or so. Perfect size. Cut them in 1/2 for the smaller fish if you want to. Sometimes they get freaked out when they grab em and they start wiggling around. But once they figure out its alive and its food, they'll come back for more.

Hope that helps

PS NICE JD!

My FH is a male and he is 14 inches.

My jag, Goldilocks. :) He is about 10" so he still has some growing to go. (The big mark on its head is from when it jumped into the hood last night)
