Species: Jewel cichlid
How many: a pair and fry
How long trying: 4 weeks
Any successful spawns:2
Setup: 125 mixed african cichlid tank
Any triggers/other info: Just got the male 4 weeks ago, from the minute he hit the water my female (had for 2 years) swam right up to him and hasn't left his side since, within a week they had spawned. Removed the fry a week after hatching. 2 days later they spawned again :D

Buffalo Head Cichlids.

Was too easy actually, put 3 males in with one female and the couple paired up and killed off the unchosen.

About 2 months later the first spawn of fry was swimming around about 30.

They have had another batch of fry and the third is on the way.

Basic setup, a 30 gallon corner tank with some cheesy petsmart decor and a bubbler to move some water around, attached are a few pics.

Species: Heros severus

How many: 2

How long trying: a year with gold pair, begining with green pair

Any successful spawns already: eggs with gold pair, no fry. no progress with green pair yet, previous owner had fry.

Set up: 100 gallon lots of driftwood and slate

Any triggers/other information : large water changes, feed lettuce and greens, coffee machine with peat moss, makes great black water extract and seems to trigger breeding. i would assume this would work with many south american species.
