I used to enjoy watching the jerusalem crickets marching around back when it rained in CA. Been a few years since I've seen one.

For the first time ever I saw a female dragging a big cicada through my yard the other day. She was pretty brave because I have chickens that would snap her right up.
 
It's funny you mention that because I notice how inquisitive these wasps are. They'll just fly right up to you and check you out. Like they have no fear. Like a shark sizing you up.
