RALLYSMAN: That fellow you gave away looks to be part parrot from the head shape.

DIXON: Thats a very nice looking male you had there. Cool colors & finnage. Makes me wonder if there was a little sajica mixed in there.

SKINLESS & JDP: Great looking bruisers you've got there.

Well, I tried to take some shots of my bruiser that would help show his size a little better. He's in a 30gal tank.

Those abs fittings have an outside diameter of 5" at the openings. He loves spending time in them making it tough to get good pics.

The next 3 shots were taken from the end of the tank where its 12" wide. The 2 shots where he's outside the pipe, he's really close to the glass.

Can never seem to get a fish to flare its fins when you want to!:screwy:

I love convicts! I don't have any right now, maybe that will change soon, but they are one of the fish that really helped me "fall in love" with fishkeeping. I've basically kept fish my whole life, but when I was in elementary school my mom was the library at our local middle school. Anyway, one of the social studies teachers in the middle school had a tank in his classroom, probably about 75 gallons, with convicts in them. When I saw those fish, I was hooked! Sadly, some parent complained because he gave them feeders during school hours. The district made him take the tank home. Imagine, an actual demonstration on what occurs in nature (bigger fish eating smaller fish) and some parents can't handle it and ruin it for everyone.

Here are my kids, breeding at 1" and 1.5"
Night time pic, so they're a tad bit shy. The male usually has this awsome turquoise and red hue on his fins. The female, as you can see, has some nice color on her sides, her fins are kinda yellow, and her lower jaw has some turquoise.

We thought the same thing! I gave it to eh1421 because he liked it and he helped me with a tank swap:) It was a cool fish though.
