It is a Bordeaux Dogue ( aka french mastiff ) . This one had ( he died ) a red mask, there also are black masked ones ( of which I had a ***** ).

I am an enormous fans of all blunt nosed breeds ( boxers included but they're a bit excited for my taste ).

He sure was a beautiful dog. I love his coloring. A friend of my wife's just got a French mastiff pup, he's the black masked variety I believe.

I want a bull terrier so bad..definitly my next dog will look like this beautiful girl..all are beautiful but oh my this one really gets me..........

some great looking dogs... i corrently have no dogs since my couple of great danes died, budda and maria, i dicided to take a break with dogs, but i miss them a lot, so i'm thinking of getting an english bulldog...

WHAT A BEAUTY! Is it true they can carry a football in their mouth.. I just think they are awesome and black and white is the ultimate color..

not sure about the football in the mouth but they do have big yet gentle mouths, can carry some big toys or in some cases lots of smaller ones.
In the US four colors are recognized black, black and white (sometimes referred to as landseer), brown and grey.

Do they also make good watch dogs or are they just big teddy bears? What is their life span? Yours is gorgeous!
